It’s now easier than ever to get clothing from Micah’s Mission
A new clothing order form is now available, and will make distributing clothing faster and more efficient
The new clothing order forms can be picked up from Micah’s Mission.
Churches United is constantly evolving to help our neighbors in need faster and more efficiently, the moment they need assistance.
One recent change Churches United has implemented is clothing order forms. Thanks to generous donations from the community, we can help clothe our neighbors who are unable or may struggle to purchase new clothing. Now, we are streamlining that process to ensure those donations are being distributed as quickly as possible.
The clothing order form process is simple: Micah’s Mission guests or community members can walk into the shelter, fill out a form and Churches United volunteers will fill the order.
Those volunteers will typically package orders within seven days of the request. Once filled, a Churches United staff member will give the order to the person who requested it.
The form is straightforward and requires a name, whether the clothing is men's, women's, children's or toddler’s, and the specific item, size and color/style. Those requesting clothes can also leave additional notes for important information that volunteers need to know.
Those submitting a form can fill out multiple forms if they need clothing for themselves and/or children.
Volunteer and Donations Coordinator Keely Harvey says the goal is to minimize the time clothing items are in Churches United’s possession. Recently, Churches United began hosting pop-up closets on Wednesdays, with the same goal of meeting community needs rapidly. The clothing selection at the pop-up closets is tailored to the coming week’s weather.
Churches United has everything from shirts to pants to jackets, and Harvey also noted that work boots and gloves are available.
Forms will be available at the Wednesday pop-up closets, the Micah’s Mission front desk and laundry room, from case managers or by simply asking a CU staff member for one.
