Facts over fear: Minnesota government launches informational website

The state of Minnesota has launched a new webpage called “Fact First: The real story on services that support Minnesota.”

The state of Minnesota has created a new website to shed light on the impact of current events.

Recent news about possible federal changes to public programs like child care and food assistance has left many families in a state of uncertainty, according to a release from the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families.

In response, the state of Minnesota has launched a new webpage called “Fact First: The real story on services that support Minnesota.”

This webpage is for families and service agencies with questions about how recent events could impact them.

With federal attention focused on the state of Minnesota and various state agencies facing the potential of cuts to federal funding, the release said, it’s more important than ever to ensure Minnesotans have access to up-to-date information about the status of the services they rely on.

“Inflammatory and misleading claims create safety risks for families, child care providers, and businesses, and contributes to harmful discourse about Minnesota’s immigrant communities,” said Commissioner Tikki Brown. “We remain committed to fact-based reviews that stop fraud, protect children, support families, maintain the public trust, and minimize disruption to communities that rely on these essential services.”
