Churches United and Spread Your Sunshine to host shared event

Come to Kingpinz in Fargo on Feb. 5 for family-friendly pre-Giving Hearts Day fun!

Join Churches United and Spread Your Sunshine at Kingpinz (3485 Jacks Way S, Fargo) on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 5-7 p.m. for some family-friendly pre-Giving Hearts Day fun!

All are welcome to attend to have some fun and learn about both Spread Your Sunshine and Churches United. And for the kids, some of their favorite characters may make an appearance!

You and your family can get a picture taken and receive a printout, free of charge. And, there will be a little friendly competition between Spread Your Sunshine and Churches United. Once you get your photo, attendees will vote for Team Joy (Spread Your Sunshine) or Team Hope (Churches United).

This year is Spread Your Sunshine’s first time participating in Giving Hearts Day. Given the incredibly close partnership between SYS and CU, it only made sense that both organizations would have a little Giving Hearts Day fun together.

Spread Your Sunshine began four years ago, when founder Addie Loerzel and her mom, Marisa Bengston, hosted their first event at Churches United’s Bright Sky Apartments.

“We went in with the intention to make memories with kids, and going to Churches United, we thought was going to do a one-time event, and it ended up being a full-blown nonprofit,” Marisa said.

Spread Your Sunshine continues hosting monthly events for residents of Bright Sky and Silver Linings Apartments to this day. As well as regularly spreading cheer across Churches United in little and big ways. For example, over the holiday season, SYS made sure Santa stopped by Micah’s Mission. Churches United is grateful for Spread Your Sunshine’s wonderful partnership!
