Serving up Hope: Community Impact at Gourmet Soup Kitchen fundraiser
The Spread Your Sunshine team showed up in force during the 2025 Gourmet Soup Kitchen fundraiser!
Churches United’s annual Gourmet Soup Kitchen event is back and bigger than ever!
"Gourmet Soup Kitchen is more than just soup. It's about bringing our community together with open hearts and curious minds. Learning about the needs of our neighbors and reminding ourselves what's possible when we work together for the common good,” said Advancement Director Stephanie Ressler.
This fundraising event will run from 5 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29th inside Dakota Medical Foundation at 4321 20th Ave s, Fargo. Tickets can be purchased online.
This heartwarming event is especially important going into the colder months due to the increased demand for emergency shelter services at Micah’s Mission and household food supports at the Dorothy Day Food Pantry.
Every year this event showcases the very best of our community, Ressler said, with local businesses, organizations, and people coming out to support Churches United’s mission.
The money raised during this event helps fund shelter, housing, and food services for neighbors in Moorhead, Dilworth, Fargo, and the surrounding communities.
Churches United provides emergency shelter and case management to men, women, and children at Micah’s Mission. In addition, the kitchen team at Micah’s Mission serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to anyone who needs it.
At Churches United’s food pantry, volunteers and staff provide access to nutritious food for over 300 households each week. Churches United also provides permanent supportive housing to seniors, veterans, individuals, and families at our two Moorhead apartment buildings: Bright Sky and Silver Linings.
The Gourmet Soup Kitchen is our chance to update the community on the work Churches United is doing, Ressler said, and celebrate all the people who make this work possible.
“When we come together with a shared purpose, we create more than just an event that evening. It will have meaningful connections, and a greater understanding of the Churches United mission and it's future,” Ressler said.
